Sir Bobby: Legend
The former Newcastle and England manager, who has also managed Barcelona, Sporting Lisbon, PSV Eindhoven and Ipswich Town in his illustrious managerial career, met with the Gills squad this week to help lift their spirits ahead of this weekend's trip to Plymouth Argyle.

Sir Bobby was in town for a surprise appearance at a retirement party for MHS Homes' financial director and Geordie, Tom Patterson.

Seeing Sir Bobby at Gillingham has started us all dreaming, of course! The impact of having such a revered figure at our club would have an unbelievably positive effect at the club. The upturn in interest would be huge, while the club would find it much easier to attract quality players to the club. After all, who wouldn't want to play for Sir Bobby Robson? It would also help Andy Hessenthaler, who could work as a coach alongside Robson and learn the managerial ropes from one of the very best in the business.

Unfortunately, even if Paul Scally tried to secure Sir Bobby's services, the chances are we wouldn't be able to find the appropriate financial package anyway. It's a shame, as we are in desperate need of SOMETHING to help turn us around - and I can't think of a better man for the job.
