Southall deal made permanent

The 30-year-old came back to the Priestfield on loan last week, but the two clubs have now made the move permanent.

The deal is for three years and no transfer fee is involved.

Southall moved to Bolton in July 2001 from the Gills and made 18 league appearances in his first season.

However he has found it difficult to break into Sam Allardyce's plans in the Premiership and he was recently loaned out to Norwich for two months brfore rejoining the Gills last week.
