Spiller: Ready to stake his claim next season

Talking to his personal website, Danny spoke about his situation, and said that he'll be working hard to get back into the side for next season.

Danny's had to watch the run-in from the touchline after falling out of favour with Stan Ternent after injury and illness saw him out of action for a number of weeks.

"I have received assurances that I will still be in the fold next season. With that in mind, my season begins once Sunday's game is over.

"It won't be a relaxing summer for me; I'll be making sure I'm already fit when pre-season comes around because I've got a lot to prove to the manager - if he stays on.

"You can't deny he's done a great job at Priestfield, even if it's been a frustrating time for me personally."
