Stan set to appeal Henderson dismissal

Stan: Backing his player
Ternent, who had a good view of the incident, is adamant that Hendo's part in the incident, which led to both he and Leeds fullback Michael Gray being sent off, wasn't worthy of a red card.

Stan told the press after the match, "I thought Mickey Gray hit him in the face, and then all hell broke loose, and Darius was trying to keep him away,

"It's totally out of character with Gray, I don't know what sparked him to do that.

"I don't feel my player should have been sent off under any circumstances."

Hendo: In good goalscoring form
It is thought that Henderson will be banned for three matches if the offence is reported as violent conduct - and that ban will apply immediately UNLESS an appeal is lodged within the following 24 hours.

By appealing the decision, not only does the club get the opportunity to attempt to get Henderson's red card reduced to a yellow card, it also allows the big striker to play in Tuesday night's hugely important home fixture against Stoke City.

The partnership between Henderson and Mamady Sidibe has blossomed in recent matches - and Gills fans will be hoping both strikers will be named in the starting lineup to face Stoke on Tuesday night.
