Jepson: spoke to Crewe about Higdon
Higdon, who has hit ten goals in 36 league starts (+ 45 substitute appearances), turned down a contract offer at Gresty Road and is on the lookout for a new club.

The rangy front-man has had an indifferent time at Crewe, leading to fans taunting the 23-year-old striker during his time at the club.

But Crewe boss Dario Gradi, who wanted to keep Higdon on board for next season, is sure that the Liverpool-born target man will have no problems finding a move and confirmed Gillingham's interest.

"Ronnie Jepson has spoken to Neil Baker [Crewe's assistant manager] about Michael.

"Gillingham know he is available, and I am sure he will get a club because he is a big striker who can play."

Crewe will ask for a small compensation fee for the player, who made his way up through the youth system at Gresty Road.
