The meeting will take place on Saturday morning at 10.30am in the Great Hall at Priestfield Stadium - and will give Gills fans the chance to hear the plans of the new supporters group, whose aims are to help promote the club and assist in the raising of funds for team strengthening.

A statement on the organisation's website tells fans what they are all about, explaining, "Friends of Gillingham FC is a fund set up specifically to help Gillingham FootbalI Club.

"Working with the full support of the club and Chairman Paul Scally, there is no hidden agenda or political aims, our sole purpose is to provide money for our footbalI club through fund raising and supporter donations.

"Monies from donations will be made available to the club to aid with Player and Management wages, Development of the GFC Youth Academy, Medical facilities and much more.

"The trust has no direct link with any other existing organisations related to the footbalI club and operates as a stand-alone fund, administered by an established third-party organisation.

"Money will be provided to the club by a members majority vote, ensuring that every decision is made democratically and with the backing of all involved."

So why not leave early for Priestfield on Saturday and get along to the meeting?
