Tommy Johnson departs Priestfield

Johnson: A favourite of Gills365 - all the best Tommy
The former Notts County, Aston Villa, Celtic, Sheffield Wednesday and Kilmarnock man was never short on quality, but was sadly beset by injuries during his time at Priestfield. He leaves the Gills with memories of some fantastic goals, and equally entertaining goal celebrations.

Tommy's finest hour in a Gills shirt came last season against Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup. TJ scored Gillingham's first goal and was the outstanding player on show as the Gills ran out 3-2 winners in a memorable Cup giantkilling.

Sadly we didn't see the best of Tommy, but during those spells when he was fit, he demonstrated his undoubted ability on the ball and a sublime left foot.

We wouldn't be at all surprised to see him at Meadow Lane within a week or so, where he will finish his career back where it started at Notts County.

We at Gills365 bid Tommy farewell and wish him all the very best for the future.
