Neale Cooper spoke to the
official site after Gills' 1-0 home defeat against Oldham and spoke of his frustration at yet another disappointing result.
"I am very frustrated. The effort the players put in today, and the chances we created, would have won many a game. It is a bit hard at the moment, as things are not happening. As effort goes, it was a fantastic effort by the players today. We started brightly, but next thing you know, we're a goal down but was battering them the whole game."
The Gills fell behind to an early goal and looked lethargic in the first half, but they came out with more purpose in the second period and proceeded to batter the Latics, hitting the woodwork twice as they searched for that elusive equaliser. Cooper was happy with the second half display, but bemoaned his side's lack of luck in front of goal.
"I think we just need a wee bit of luck. The front boys are all quality finishers. It is frustrating at the moment, as you dominate a game so much, like we did today, and not get anything from it. The chances we created, we just needed a deflection or two. We hit the bar and the post. They just seemed to get a boot or body in the way in time. We just need one thing to fall for us, and hopefully, it will turn it round."
