Championship Picks: Final Week Roundup

Last updated : 09 May 2005 By Simon Head
The final weekend of Championship Picks saw the Gills relegated on a dramatic day in the Coca Cola Championship.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, nobody had the heart to predict a set of results that would lead to Gillingham's relegation, so that effectively meant that Guffie's place at the top of the Championship Picks table remained unchallenged on the final day of the season.

The best score of the week came from Grumpy, with 27 points. The worst score was, believe it or not, from Guffie, who scored just 13 points. But then again, he didn't need to score any more, did he?!

Priest_field and Firemax both made last-day improvements to their scores, moving themselves up the high score table, but neither could challenge the top 10.
So, after 17 weeks of prediction pugilism, the inaugural Championship Picks champion is Guffie, so congratulations to him. Hopefully he'll be back to defend his title, over an entire season, in August.

Runner up was shared by Symongills2 and CMC42.

Next season, the game will be bigger, better and, in the light of our relegation, a new name too! (All suggestions to headley@gills365.co.uk!)

All that remains is for me to say enjoy the summer and keep checking the Gills365 site for the latest Gills news during the off-season. I hope you all enjoyed Championship Picks and hope you'll be back to take each other on once again next season.
