Championship Picks: Week 2 Roundup

Last updated : 08 February 2005 By Simon Head
Week 2 of Gills365's Championship Picks competition saw some new names enter the fray. But a tough set of matches to predict saw none of them challenge Headley at the top of the high score table.

Best weekly performance was by Jasper_Gill, whose 23-point haul saw him enter the Championship Picks high score table in second place.

Other newcomers didn't fare so well. Fred_the_Needle had a shocker of a debut week, only picking up points in two of the ten matches. Thankfully (or should that be luckily?), he had one of those two matches as his banker, which meant his first weekly score of nine points was actually more respectable than it could have been.

Guffie showed his consistency by picking up 20 points for the second week running, but unfortunately for him, there are no points for consistency - and he sits in fourth.

Finally, another welcome newcomer to Gills365, Spitfire (presumably named after Kent's very own beer, or indeed the beer pies at Priestfield) had a solid if unspectacular start to his Championship Picks campaign with a weekly score of 16 points.

With each player's best weekly score counting towards the high score table, it's anyone's title, and the competition will remain wide open until the end of the season. With his Week 1 score of 32 points looking pretty good, can anyone knock Headley off the top of the table? Send in your predictions for Week 3 and see if you're up to the challenge...
