Championship Picks: Week 7 Roundup

Last updated : 28 February 2005 By Simon Head
What a weekend for the Gills! Had you suggested that Gillingham would earn a magnificent win over title contenders Wigan, you'd probably have been carted off by the men in white coats long before kickoff. Perhaps that explains why Fred_the_Needle wasn't at the game. He not only predicted a Gills win, but also got the score spot on!

The competition was further strengthened by some more newcomers this week, bringing the Championship Picks league to a whopping 25 players. It seems the competition is proving pretty popular, so we'll run a bigger and better version of Championship Picks next season. More news on that nearer the time, but for now, let's see who were the winners and sinners this week...

Top of the pile this week is Spitfire. He managed 32 points this week, easily his best score to date, and that moved him right up the high-score table to joint sixth, alongside yours truly.

The worst score was 'achieved' by two of our boardsters. Tedhowes' second week in the competition wasn't the best, as he managed a measly 8 points from a possible 55. But he wasn't alone, as he is joined this week by Grumpy, who couldn't manage more than 8 points either.

As I'm sure you all now know, with each player's best weekly score counting towards the high score table, it's anyone's title, and the competition will remain wide open until the end of the season. Register your predictions for Week 8 - and get your mates involved. Playing is easy, but winning is much tougher!
