The only other player to beat Mr T is the player that now sits on top of the league as MarkG couldn't be bothered to fly all the way out to Australia (and who can blame him?) and gave Ted Howes an easy 4-0 victory. Thats six wins in a row for Ted now and equals his personnel best. I'm still waiting with great anticipation for the fall which always follows the rise. Hopefully the shock of being on top of the league for the first time will be the deciding factor that starts the downfall.
Guffie is unbeaten at home in his last eight games now after beating Fred 5-2 and keeps the pressure on the Aussie reprobate. As usual Fred's excuses were coming in thick and fast before the game had even kicked off but I think we can let him off this time as Fred is recovering from an operation. I will take this opportunity in wishing Fred all the best from us all and wish him a speedy recovery. (Blast, how can I gloat when the man's not well?) Tic.
SymonGills got the highest score of the week when he managed to beat MedwayBlue away 4-6. That was Medwayblue's third straight defeat and sees him getting dragged into the relegation battle where as Symon is now in sixth place and looking for a European place
.When Trueblue played Townender away in the first half of the season he managed an unimpressive 0-1 victory after Townender was late turning up for the game. Both players were showing poor form. Townender without a win in his last five and Trueblue with only one win in his last five. That was against Fred (not too difficult I hear you say). It was a tight game that was only won by the fact that Trueblue had the Gills to lose as his banker. It finished 4-3.
A similar story occurred in the game between SkooblBloo and GTAT. Skoobi hammered GTAT 3-5 the first time they met and beat him again this week 4-3 but only due to him having the Gills to lose as his banker.
Baldangel however should be an inspiration to us all. He didnt have the Gills as his banker but still managed to get his revenge on the 0-3 drubbing dished out by Jonhinio when they first met. He managed to cruise past Jon 2-4.
Zoidy now finds himself third from bottom after losing 2-4 at home to KFG. It shows how times have changed because Zoidy beat KFG 3-2 earlier in the season. That was obviously when Zoidy had a decent striker who could score more than two goals a game. Zoidy has now only scored 18 goals in this league. Thats the same amount as MarkG who has been absent from three of his games. Time to loan a couple of goal scorers I think.
Jagman has no trouble scoring goals as he won 5-4. But then he was only playing the Swindon straw-muncher WiltsGill. If we were allowed to put these games as our banker then this is the one I would have chosen. The player with the second highest goals scored tally in the league playing the team with the most goals conceded in the league. There could only be one outcome.
Gillsalltheway managed a 3-3 home draw against Headley this week which is a good result going by his recent form (he had lost his last four games). This leaves him 2nd from bottom and staring relegation in the face unless he can manage to beat his team into shape and get some wins under his belt. Headley is in ninth place and will no doubt tell us he is perfectly poised for his big push as we head into the last ten games of the season.
That's ten games left and it's still anybody's league. There's only thirteen points between top spot and bottom spot but time is now starting to run out. Every game now becomes that little bit more important. I wish you all the very best of luck (yeah right!!).
