Guffie's Gills365 League Review: Round 10 - The EVENS

Last updated : 09 October 2006 By Guffie

Welease_Woderwick played host to Franky this week who hadn't had a win in his last four games and with Wodders not having had a win in his last two they both needed the points. It was Franky who came away with all three after a very narrow 1-2 victory. But when your form is in a bit of a slump you take what you can get.

Both Wiltsgill and GTAT were at home this week and both defending unbeaten records. Wilts drew 3-3 with baldangel but GTAT couldn't take advantage of this by only drawing 2-2 with me. If he had won he would now be sitting on top of the table on goal difference having the best goal difference in the league. Never mind eh?

The big grudge match this week was between Elsie2 and jagman. Neither of them had won in their last two games and would most certainly of wanted the points to keep them in touch with the leaders. But I think the points would have been the secondary concern in this game. The first would have been pride. Well that and the points went to jagman who beat Elsie 2-3 away and moves him up to third place in the league, not that i believe for one second that jagman will gloat about this and I'm sure Elsie will remain most gracious in defeat. (Who am I kidding?).

Meanwhile Kezz keeps her move up the table going with a comfortable 3-1 win over birl_1997. Birl still has a lot of work to do after taking over late from Davefromkent.

Markg183 managed an easy 3-0 home win over The_Last_Waltz who forgot his user name but had he remembered he would have still lost 3-2.

skoobibloo v Jonhinio ended 1-1 moving skoobi down one place to 4th. The game between Spitfire, who was looking for his first win in four games, and wilfred_h, who was hoping to repeat his 4-2 victory last week, ended in a high scoring 3-3 draw.

Bottom of the table Akinbiyi travelled to NWBluesfan, who keeps threatening to make a big push up the table and mix it with the big boys. It ended 2-2. Oh well, start the push next week then NWB.

The final game this week featured medwayblue taking on elliottthegillsfan at home. Elliott has had more draws than anyone else in the league and medwayblue hadn't had any. Well I'm afraid Elliott dragged him down to his level as it finished 2-2.

That is Elliott's 6th draw this season but then there were a total of six draws this week so maybe I shouldn't take the mick too much. Must try harder next week folks, myself included of course.
