Guffie's Gills365 League Review: Round 13 - The EVENS

Well it was league game number thirteen and it was certainly unlucky for some as Wiltsgill finally lost his unbeaten record. Yes it was a tense day as top of the league Wilts played host to 2nd placed GTAT. The stadium was full (both seats were taken) but it was the home fan that went away upset as GTAT showed what happens when an opponent actually turns up to play and beat wiltsy 4-5. This leaves the pair on level points at the top of the league with Jagman only six points behind. He would have been closer but suffered a humiliating defeat on his home soil at the hands of NWBluesFan. I think it was due to his defence being blinded by all the candles on NWBs birthday cake as it was paraded round the ground at half time. The game finished 3-5 but still leaves Jagman third and moves NWB into the top half of the table.

A mid-table battle was also a bit of a crowd puller as 10th placed Jonhinio met 11th placed Spitfire but both teams dropped down the table as it finished 4-4 with neither team managing to out do the other. This was also the result between Wilfred_h and Welease_Woderwick which keeps Woders in the third from bottom spot but just one point behind Franky. There is actually trouble in the Franky camp as he forgets to post his user name with cries of, 'we want the caretaker manager back' echoing out of the kitchen. So with Franky not turning up and it being a high scoring week the stage was set for Elsie2 to chalk up a great victory and end her run of five defeats on the trot. This she did but she only scrapped past him 0-1. If Franky had posted his user name he would of won 5-1.

Akinbiyi didn't forget to post a username, the trouble was it wasn't his!? He posted Medwayblue's name (are you trying to tell us something Aki?) so medwayblue went on to win that game 0-3, giving him an unbeaten run of nine games. Had Aki remembered his own name he would have won 4-3 but as it is he remains rooted to the bottom of the table.

Elliottthegillsfan is slowly losing his crown of being the draw-meister as he fails to draw for the third game on the trot and gives TheLastWaltz a right 3-6 hiding. Birl also had an easy 4-0 victory over markg183, aided no doubt by the fact that mark didnt turn up this week. Kezz's woes continue as she is beaten 5-3 by baldangel. In fact since saying how well she was doing she has lost every game. Maybe she should do what I've been telling my wife to do for years ' keep your big… ' . (Sorry, just had to remove a keyboard from somewhere it doesn't belong).

As for me, i had a home game against SkoobiBloo who hadn't lost in his last seven games and the class showed as he narrowly beat me 4-5 and leaps past me into 4th place. Well done Skoobi, and I mean that most sincerely. (Whatever).

But my loss didn't put me down in the dumps as I was delighted with the other great score of the day, no not even the Gills first clean sheet of the season could match it. WILTSY 4 – GTAT 5 . Oh deep joy. At last.
