Guffie's Gills365 League Review: Round 13 - The ODDS

Last updated : 30 October 2006 By Guffie

We start this VERY high scoring week with a look at Martb_90 v Headley. Not because it was a great game, it finished 4-4, but because I want everyone to know that Martb was the only person in both leagues who had the Gills down to lose. What a tugboat.

Both games between KFG v Deano and Frediculousbiggs v gills21st ended unbelievably in 6-6 draws. I know if my strikers had scored six but we also conceded six I would be kicking the living daylights out of my defenders.

Another high scoring draw was a 5-5 result between Zoidy and Townender. This now puts Townender on a seven match unbeaten run. Another player on a good run at the moment, six games unbeaten, is our Scottish friend Trueblue who managed to beat Fred_the_needle for only the second time this season with a very close 5-4 home victory. Although Fred is still the clear leader this result moves Trueblue up to 5th place.

Poor jfc still remains without a win as he loses at home to Symongills 4-5. Symon is desperately trying to stay in the top half of the league after slipping out of it last week. But barring a miracle I think jfc will be playing Championship football after the split.

Ted Howes, with some help from his magic mushrooms, has finally ended his six games without a win. A very hard fought 5-4 home victory over Grumpy. I was that pleased I nearly got the beers in.........nearly. But sorry to burst your bubble Ted, alas you have the highest goals conceded tally in the league and that includes jfc who hasnt won a game. But I don't suppose that will cheer Grumps up any. Lol.

Gillsalltheway now finds himself three games without a win and in the bottom half of the league after losing 6-5 to gaz 86, who now moves up to the top half of the league on the same points as Gillsalltheway but of course a much better goal difference. Keep working on that defence GATW. 6-5 was also the score between Fommt and cmc42. But this result still leaves both players on the wrong side of the Great Divide. As does the result between Coombs and Jasper, which Jasper narrowly won 3-4, making up for his tactical error last week. But, and where Jasper is concerned there is always a but, when I checked his results I noticed that he had won 3-6 but i have since been informed that because there was a space before some of his scores they never registered when the scores were tallied. A lesson to one and all, take your time with your predictions and don't leave a space. As stated in the rules. (You really must get round to reading them one day Jasper lol).

This must be the highest scoring week yet. Are you getting better or was it just a fluke? We will find out next week won't we?
