Guffie's Gills365 League Review: Round 15 - The EVENS

This was the highest scoring week yet. Teams are obviously getting worried, as there are now only four more games before the split. We start with The_Last_Waltz who was the only one in the bottom five to win this week, as he absolutely walloped welease_woderwick [try saying that after a few jars – Ed] 7-0. That helped his ailing goal difference quite a bit but has he left it too late? That's eight games without a win now for Wodders and leaves him in big trouble near the bottom of the table.

Akinbiyi was so thrilled with his win last week he must of still had a hangover because he never turned up this week and wilfred_h took full advantage and put 6 into what was an empty net. This is Wilf's seventh unbeaten game on the trot and moves him just the right side of the 'Great Divide'. elliottthegillsfan now takes over the title of the 'drawmeister' as he had a good, high scoring 6-6 away draw with Jonhinio. Both players remain in the bottom half of the table.

medwayblue got back to winning ways after his little hiccup last week with a hard-fought 5-6 away victory over birl_1997 whose winning ways seem to of deserted him this last couple of weeks. Another player who is suffering with loseritis at the moment is Jagman who lost for the 3rd week running, this time it was 6-7 to an on form Spitfire. Unfortunately (?) Spitty still finds himself in the lower half of the league. Another 6-7 home defeat was suffered by Franky and it was inflicted upon him by a very much on-form SkoobiBloo who is now unbeaten in the last ten games. Not a lot of comfort for Franky though as he still hasn't won since his wife was in charge.

It looked like being a tough week for me as I played host to sixth-placed markg183. As it turned out I think Mark played his second string as I eased past him 7-4 and move up into 4th spot as a result. NWBluesfan was aiming at keeping his long promised 'big push' going, but was up against baldangel who hadn't lost in the last nine games. It finished in a 5-5 draw with neither team managing to gain the upper hand.

League leader GTAT and second-placed wiltsgill were both at home this week knowing they are all but through to the Premiership next season. Wiltsy relaxed a little too much and an off form kezz was allowed to cruise past him 4-6. What a gentleman you are Wilts. GTAT on the other hand wasn't feeling so charitable (nasty person) and managed to scrape past Elsie2 (remembering it was a high scoring week) by just 4 goals to 3.

Lots of goals this week leaves Wiltsgill and myself with the highest goals scored tally in the league with 53 apiece, however Wilts has only 32 against but the way he's playing lately that could all change, with a bit of luck.
