Another good win was Gaz86's 0-5 thrashing of Jaspergill and to add insult to injury Jaspers three goals were disallowed after an error in his matchlist, however both players still remain in the bottom half of the league but Gaz looks the more likely of the two to make the Premiership.
Someone else struggling at the moment is Gills21st and he wasn't helped this week by losing 3-6 at home against a very much on form Zoidy, who has now only lost once in his last eight games and moves up to 6th spot in the table.
You can't talk about on form players without mentioning Headley ( 9 games unbeaten) and Truebluejock (8 games unbeaten) who met this weekend so surely something had to give. It turned out to be a good contest with Headley coming through to win 6-4. I must admit to being one of those that laughed at Headley for only winning one of his first six games but since then he has remained undefeated and notched up a perfect eight score in the process. How I yearn for the old days.
Coombs appears to have given up totally as he fails to turn up this week and gives Frediculous Biggs an easy 3-0 victory and an easy three points, gratefully accepted no doubt. Coombs now sits 2nd from bottom and must surely prepare himself for Championship football in the 2nd half of the season. Townender, however, managed to make it this week and gets straight back into winning form by beating Fommt (just) 3-2 at home but still 9 points behind Fred_the_Needle who won YET AGAIN this week and shows no sign of letting up even though he has already qualified for the Premiership. (He's just showing off now, i bet Jfc hates him). This weeks unfortunate victim was Cmc42, and Fred did just enough, as usual, to win 3-4.
Deano is probably envious of Fred's position as he has now not won in his last six games and got well and truly beaten at home 2-5 by Symongills. Symon now finds himself level on 24 points with four other players. All of them hovering either side of the 'Great Divide'. Unfortunately just above him is Ted Howes. Ted? In the top half? Somebody pass me a gun. It was funny at first but he has now won four on the trot after beating KFG 4-5 away. This is now getting beyond a joke. He may even qualify for the Prem... no, that doesn't even bear thinking about. What happened KFG? Please tell me he cheated. My week was made even worse by Grumpy winning 5-4 at home but was eased a little by the fact it was against Martb who had gone back to his old ways of putting the Gills down to lose as his banker.
Just three games to go before the split and the nerves are showing. A lot of the games were very close but no draws this week. A lot of last minute winners going in and making things really close (OK Fred, except for you). Good luck to everyone for next week. Especially those playing against Grumpy and Ted.
