Welease Woderwick's fate had already been decided too but he showed good spirit by turning up against Jonhinio and only just losing out 3-2. You see Aki and Last Waltz, 'can't be bothered' isn't a phrase used in the Woders camp. (Although a certain little Fatty Controller may disagree with me there).
I had a home tie against Wilfred this week and you would never have thought that there were nine positions seperating us and it turned out to be a high scoring affair with myself getting a last minute penalty and edging it 5-4. Sorry Wilf but you can't hide true class.
Medwayblue was all but through to division one but made sure of it this week with an away fixture against Franky where he totally dominated and came away with an easy 3-5 victory.
Elsie needed a win against NWBluesfan, whose 'big push' never really materialised, but could only manage a 2-2 draw and so both players will be meeting again in division two for the second part of the season. GTAT, on the other hand, needed just a point against Markg to be sure of winning the Evens league title He lost out 4-5 in a very close game with both teams giving it their all. Unfortunately for GTAT it was just one game too many.
This meant that Wiltsgill needed a win against last years champion Spitfire to be sure of being crowned Evens league champion. Spitfire needed just a point and with his very good goal tally would be in division one. The scene was set to be a titanic battle between an 'old pretender' and the 'past master'. The stadium was filled to capacity. Spitty bought his entire support with him. (Apparently they hired a tandem). The whistle blew and Spitty got the match underway...and that was one of the few touches he had as Wilts ran riot and beat him 5-2. Oh well, you may still become Division Two champion Spitty, but not on that form.
Kezz was also needing a win to have any chance of qualifying for Div. One. She managed this with a close 2-1 victory over SkoobiBloo who had already secured third place and was fielding his reserve side to give them a run out. This meant that anything other than a draw between Baldangel and Elliottthegillsfan would mean she was through. Well it turned out to be a high scoring game with both players going for a victory. It was 4-3 with one prediction to go. They both had this game down as a win for Brighton. Unfortunately for Kezz, Elliott had this as his banker and so the game ended in a 5-5 draw and Kezz misses out on the first division on account of her lower goals tally. That is just so sad, or really really funny depending on your sense of humour. (Guess which one works for me).
So well done to those of you who made it to the First Division and hard luck to those in Division Two, but a very big thank you to everyone for making this predictions league so enjoyable and i'm sure you would like to join me in thanking Headley and Grumpy for their hard work every week that makes this league the success it is.
Good luck in your respective divisions.
