Gills365 League: Week 3 Review

Last updated : 30 August 2007 By Guffie

PREMIERSHIP

KFG Utd kept his 100% record going this week with a 4-2 home win over Not Another Last Minute Goal. Last time KFG played host to Symon's side he was beaten 2-4 so he would have been pleased to exact some revenge this week.

The best result in this league was for Teddybears Utd in their away game against PSV Hangover, thrashing them 3-6. PSV have now conceded 15 goals in three games and really needed a win in next week's game. Unfortunately this is now impossible thanks to 'Gazza the Grass'. (Be careful Gazza, Headley knows where you live). Ted himself is now top of a group of five players on four points. (For now).

Windlesora Wanderers carry on their run of draws with a 3-3 draw with Winning x1, who are still unbeaten this season, and Gills On Film drew with Inter Breden 4-4. Both Windlesora and Gills On Film have yet to win a game in this league.

Guffingham Allstars get their first win of the season with a 3-2 home win over Notso Hot-Spurs. (Phew).

CHAMPIONSHIP

'Gazza the Grass' is top of the Championship this week and keeps his 100% record after a tight 3-4 away win against Thommo's Goal. Although I think Gazzas Wackos may be needing a new manager by the end of the season as Headley, accidently ( ?), deletes his account.

GFC Minan get their first point of the season after holding on for a shock 4-4 home draw against unbeaten Penfold @ Specsavers.

This allowed Grumpy's Romping Donkeys to move into third place after their 3-5 hiding of the Blue Hurricanes. Gills21st now moves into the relegation zone at this early stage. Do the Hurricanes have what it takes to pull themselves back into the race for promotion? (Nahhhh).

Mr T Utd find themselves just above the bottom three after being beaten 4-2 by Festive Voodoo Chicken. (I would love to know where that name came from, also who would want to play for them?).

Kingdom Rovers may have been the division two runaway champions last season but Franky's Fifers are really struggling this season as they lose their third game in a row. This week it was the turn of Spitty's Bonfires to give Rovers a hiding. Spitty had beaten Franky in their previous two meetings and he now makes it three as he comes away from the Kingdom with a 1-3 win.

LEAGUE ONE

Suffolk Gills have been playing that poorly lately that MedwayBlue decided he would play himself and let the team manage the tactics this week He may of gotten away with it had it not been pointed out by Super Grass NWB. So Borussia Ego came away with a 0-3 away win, their first win of the new season, and Suffolk Gills sit at the bottom of the league having now lost all of their games. If you look back at the last time these two sides met you may understand why NWB chose the underhand approach, he was beaten at home 1-2.

Geordie Gills sits proudly on top of the league after thrashing FC Real Gillingham 2-5 on their home soil. This makes it three wins out of three for the Geordies and leaves FC Gills without a win.

Ben-the-Town-Ender are the only other side without a win in this league as Kentish Maid had an easy 0-3 away win against them. Although it may help the Benders if they actually bothered to turn up.

The biggest game of the week in division one was undoubtedly at Nutters Park where AG Loopy Juice played host to Galloping Home. First place met second place. As is normal in games like this that are hyped up it ended in a 3-3 draw. Neither team managing to fully outwit the other. (Does that make them halfwits)??

Hamster Academicals eagerly awaited their game against Birl Army this week as they had never won in their previous two meetings. But this time was the first time Wilf's side were the hosts. It was a very close game with The Accies just doing enough and winning it 4-3.

LEAGUE TWO

There are only two unbeaten teams in this league and both are managed by females. How do you feel now lads? CMC leading her side to a great 3-4 away victory against a previously unbeaten Wodders Wanderwers. The Zanpakutos (who?) not sit on top of the league after three games. I hope this doesn't come as too much of a shock to last season's official worst team in the league.

BHC Wanderers lose their 100% record but still remain unbeaten after a tight 4-4 draw away to Torpedo Sheppey. (Please don't Torpedo Sheppey, I've got friends that live there).

FC Sultan have now not beaten Jaspers Carrots in the three times they've met, losing 3-4 at home this week. Jasper now sits in second place. (I couldn't believe it either).

Headinhands Utd win their second game of the season beating Team Spirit 1-0 at home. But had Fan of Mulligan filled in his predictions correctly he would have won. JFC must be breathing a sigh of relief. Rory's Rovers got their first win of the season after scraping past Carrington Spurs who forgot to turn up but I'm sure Gills Gaz will take the points any way he can get them.

Four errors on predictions this week and with only another six games to go before the first relegation and promotion places are decided every point is vital. As we have seen this week, there are some unscrupulous people who are more than willing to drop you in it if you make a mistake so take extra care with those predictions folks. Good luck, but most of all, have fun.
