Gills365 League: Week 4 Review

Last updated : 06 September 2007 By Guffie

PREMIERSHIP

KFG Utd stay top of the league with four wins out of four after wasting PS Cheat Hangover 4-0 at home. But i should point out that without the underhanded intervention of Gaz the Grass, Headley's side would have won 4-5. (Ban him Si). This leaves Headley without any points after his first four games and sitting at the bottom of the league. Time for the 'Big Push' I think.

Guffingham Allstars move into second place after a great away win against Winning XI. Guffie was pleased to get revenge after the 3-6 hammering he took the last time they met.

Not Another Last Minute Goal played host to arch rivals Not So Hotspurs and Symon had been training his lads hard all week to try and beat Jagman. It was a close and hard fought game but the Not So Hots came away with the three points after an injury time goal making the final score 5-6. Symons post match interview could hardly be heard above the laughter coming from the rest of the family. Just to make things worse Symon, they ALL won this week.

Gills On Film travelled to Oz Park to play Teddybears Utd looking for their first win of the season - and you'll never believe it, but they only went and got it! Flukey Ted Howes' luck finally ran out when, with the game locked at 6-6, GTAT produced a banker from up his sleeve to nab a last-gasp 7-6 win. Time for the Teddybears to "paws" for thought, perhaps?

The last two times that Inter Breden and Windlesora Wanderers have met, both games ended in draws and this game proved to be no different ending in a 3-3 draw with niether side having the class to find the winner. This is Jonhinios fourth draw of the season. His boring defensive tactics are'nt really working as he finds himself in relegation place at the moment. I think this may also be rubbing off on his opponents.

CHAMPIONSHIP

Gazzas Wackos were at home to Kingdom Rovers this week. Top played bottom. The Wackos had won all their games and the Rovers had lost all theirs. It seemed a forgone conclusion. But Franky had other ideas as he had been taking a lot of stick at home over his teams performances. But Franky had been able to visit the transfer market this week and bought himself a whole new squad after a very large donation from a mystery manager from the Premiership, and came away with a very good 4-5 victory. (Stop sniggering Headley).

Second placed Penfold @ Specsavers played host to the Romping Donkeys in what should have been the game of the day. However, the Donkeys lived up to their name and never got out of the barn as Deanos side romped all over them. The humiliating spectacle ended with a 7-3 victory for the Speccies and the Donkeys left for Margate Sands looking for a different direction in life.

Mr T Utd slip into the relegation zone after a 4-6 home defeat to Thommos goal leaving Mr T wandering just what he has to do against Baldangels side. They have met three times and Mr T has yet to win but Baldangel wont be worrying about that as he moves into a promotion spot.

Festive Voodoo Chickens away form woes continue as they lose 4-3 to GFC Minan, giving Skoobis side their first win of the season. Zoidy really must get a grip of his players on the road and try and convert some of his 100% home form into away form. The players themselves are blaming it on all the abuse they face from the home fans for having such a stupid name.

Spitty must be having the same problem with his players as Bonfire of the Profanities only manage a 4-4 draw at home against the Blue Hurricanes. But at least its a step in the right direction as the last time they met Gills21st,s side won 0-2. This leaves both teams battling just above the drop zone.

LEAGUE ONE

Townender never made the game against Geordie Gills this week and so allowed Gillsalltheway a comfortable 2-0 home win. They have met three times now with the Benders yet to win, but showing up does actually improve your chances of a result Townender. Thats four wins out of four for Geordie Gills now and leaves him sitting (almost) pretty on top of the league.

AG Loopy Juice are in second place after a close 4-5 victory over Kentish Maid who drops out of the promotion places into fourth place. Kezz can only seem to win away at the moment having lost and drawn her two home games. So thats what all the lads were on about in the pub when they said she likes to play away!!!!!! Fred is in second place but i'm still waiting for him to go into free-fall mode like he did last season. (I think its an age thing).

Fourth placed Galloping Home played host to Hamster Accies and it turned into a bit of a thriller. The last two times these sides have met they finished in draws but this time Elsie managed to find that little extra and won the game 6-5.

Speaking of boring draws, thats exactly what we got in the lower end of the table clash between Borussia Ego and Birl Army with neither side doing, or bothering, enough to find a winner. It finished 4-4.

FC Real Gillingham got their first win of the season with a resounding 2-5 away win this week. But before Speedy gets too excited i must remind him that it was only against Suffolk Gills, who have lost all of their games this season. In fact MedwayBlue has only won twice in his last thirteen games. But a good victory non-the less Speedy.

LEAGUE TWO

I have to start this leagues review with The Zanpakutos perfect eight score against a shell shocked Torpedo Sheppey. The final score was 8-2 to CMCs side leaving a bewildered Perksd too stunned to even hurl abuse at his defence. There wont be many teams looking forward to coming to the Sword Stadium after that result. The summer break obviously did the Zanpaks a lot of good as they remain unbeaten after four games. What a contrast to last season.

The only other side unbeaten in this league are BHC Wanderers who move into second place after an easy 3-5 away win against Team Spirit. Fan of Mulligan is finding it pretty tough going in his first full season and finds himself propping up the table. The phrase 'things can only get better' springs to mind.

The same could be said for Gills Gaz in charge of Rorys Rovers as they went down 0-6 at home to Woderwicks Wanderwers. The players are'nt happy, they train hard all week and study and practice the tactics and set plays all to no avail. The manager forgets to use both his user name and team name. The way things are going, Gills Gaz could soon be looking for a new team. Wodders on the other hand moves into a promotion spot, but only on goals scored.

FC Sultan are just below the top three after an impressive 1-3 away win against Headinhands Utd. They certainly did have their head-in-hands after Fommt had finished with them. (Oh c'mon JFC, you knew i was going to say that at least once this season).

The last game in this weeks review brings us to the age old rivalry between Jaspers Carrots and Carrington Spurs. Jaspers Carrots have never beaten their arch rivals before this week. Frediculous-Biggs has always won and his team have always scored four. Jasper worked and trained his team hard. Cometh the hour cometh the man. Was this going to be Jaspers week? Err...nope, he lost 3-4. Oh well Jasper, you know Biggsy wont rub it in. He's a gent.
