Barcham's arrival takes Gillingham's quota of Spurs loanees to three, with centre half Leigh Mills and left midfielder Charlie Daniels already at the club.

With Mark McCammon ruled out of the next three matches through suspension, 21-year-old Barcham is likely to go straight into the squad for this weekend's League Two match with Port Vale.

Talking to the BBC, Gills manager Mark Stimson said: "I'm very happy to get Andy into the club. He's a ball of energy, and wants to get in behind defenders.

"I've watched him play since he was 13 or 14 and if we can get the right ball in and around him, he'll cause big problems for defenders at this level."

His performances on loan at Leyton Orient last season received rave reviews, including this assessment from Steve Claridge.
