Player Ratings: vs Bournemouth

Last updated : 09 August 2008 By Simon Head
1. Royce: Barely had anything to do, but was caught a little offguard by Anderton's shot. 6/10

2. Fuller: Superb, both with and without the ball. Probably the best defender on the pitch. 8/10 (MAN OF THE MATCH)

6. Richards: Solid as a rock, won everything in the air and kept Jo Kuffour in his pocket throughout. 7/10

5. King: Daft booking meant he couldn't foul Anderton when he needed to, but other than that, was as solid as ever. Booked. 7/10

3. Nutter: Largely unopposed down the left hand side, and made full use of the space to start countless attacks. 7/10

26. Weston: A little hesitant in the first half, but positive, direct and dangerous in the second. Definitely deserves another go. 7/10

8. Bentley: Solid performance in the middle of the park. 7/10

7. Crofts: Broke up play well and dominated the middle of the pitch with Bentley. 7/10

14. Miller: The only slight disappointment in a good team performance. Looked off the pace, was caught in possession too often and created little. Subbed. 5/10

30. McCammon: Won plenty in the air, looked mobile and linked up well with Jackson. Looks a very shrewd signing. Booked. 7/10

10. Jackson: It wasn't his day in front of goal, but caused the Bournemouth defence plenty of problems throughout. 7/10

SUBS

29. Berry: Wasn't on long, and in truth wasn't as dangerous as Weston, but made the goal with a good cutback. 7/10

9. Mulligan: Barely had any time to get into the game, but after firing an optimistic shot wide, he showed that he DOES know where the net is with a cracking strike. Scored. 7/10
