Today they're off to sunny Spain...

This afternoon the Gills are jetting off to Spain for a week's training camp in the resort of La Manga.

It's a venue that has been used many times by clubs and international teams in the past, with Glenn Hoddle's England and Mark Hughes' Wales squads spending time at the facility as part of their preparation.

The Gills are the latest club to make use of the resort's fantastic facilities as Mark Stimson prepares his squad for the start of the season.

So, with the Gills set to jet off for sunnier climes as part of their pre-season, what are their League Two rivals up to?

Rochdale are also heading off to Spain, while Notts County are flying out to Austria for their pre-season training camp.

And Macclesfield Town will play a friendly against Chinese Super League side Chengdu Blades.

Finally, Lincoln City may be remaining in the UK, but they'll be put through their paces in the less glamorous surroundings of Catterick in Yorkshire.

The Imps' squad, featuring the likes of Frank Sinclair and former Gills Aaron Brown and David Graham, will be put through their paces by the Army in what sounds like a punishing three-day military training stint.

It'll be interesting to see which teams make the fastest start when the season kicks off on August 9th - hopefully a good dose of hard work in the sun will prove to be a winning combination for Stimson and the Gills.
