Despite losing his life at such a tender age, he was so good that many of the players who played with or against him have said that he was the most accomplished player they’d ever played with. 
Edwards: A great career cut short
He was a towering figure, equally adept in midfield or at centre half. He was so good, some people maintain that had he survived the Munich air disaster and recovered his form, Bobby Moore may never have made it into the England side.
Footage of Edwards in action is rare, but when so many players of the era describe him as something a bit special, it demands that he is included in any list of all-time greats. Sadly, his time was cut so short, or we could be talking about one of the best ever to play the game.
