Former Crystal Palace winger Tommy Black could be a summer transfer target for the Gills following his release from the London club last month.

Black, who impressed during a loan spell in season 05/06, would be warmly welcomed back at the Gills - and would be seen as a like-for-like replacement for the (we think) outgoing Matty Jarvis.
Gillingham's proximity to London means Black wouldn't have to move his family if he joined the Gills, but there may well be interest shown from bigger clubs.
Bradford City would have been one possibility, but their relegation means it's unlikely he'll drop two divisions, leaving the door open for the Gills to make their move.
RUMOUR RATING ****
The major stumbling block will obviously be whether we can match Black's wage expectations, but with no transfer fee to be paid, Gills surely have a fighting chance of securing the services of a goalscoring creative midfielder with Premiership experience. We'd be mad not to at least try to get him, wouldn't we?
