Defender - James Perch

Perch was runner up in Forest's Player of the Year poll last season making 54 appearances and scoring 6 goals in the campaign that led to defeat at the hands of Yeovil in the Play Off Semi Finals. A popular member of the squad, Perch has established himself in the first eleven of Colin Calderwood's team and as a mark of his versatility and reliability, Perch has operated all along the back four and in midfield. He has come through the Forest Academy and the 21 year old has made 121 appearances and scored 10 goals. Perch is expected to be a key contributor towards Forest's promotion push this season.

Midfield - Chris Commons

Regarded by many respected pundits as the best player in League One, Commons surprised many of the City Ground faithful by signing a new one year deal following the Play Off defeat in May. A Forest fan himself, Commons has a superb left foot and a keen eye for goal, scoring 13 last term from the left hand side of midfield or behind the striker or strikers. Commons has gone full circle in his career as he was released by Forest as a youngster and after trials with Chesterfield and Notts County, he was offered terms by Stoke City. He enjoyed two terms with the Potters scoring 5 goals in 45 appearances, most as a substitute. He then joined his boyhood heroes again at the end of his contract in 2004 and has over 100 appearances and scored 28 times for the Reds.

Striker - Grant Holt

Striker Holt was something of a journeyman before joining Forest from Rochdale in 2005. His career at the City Ground started slowly and he was loaned back to Dale during his first season. His Reds career looked over as Forest accepted a bid from Bristol City for the striker, but Holt wanted to stay and fight for his place. He firmly established himself last season with 18 goals and scooped the Player of the Year award as Forest fell at the final promotion hurdle. Having had spells at Halifax, Barrow and Sheffield United, 26-year-old Holt has scored 103 goals in an 8 year career and racked up over 250 appearances. This season has proved eventful for Holt having scored one goal and picked up a red card.
