The Dugout Diaries: Bournemouth preview

Last updated : 18 August 2005 By Dugout Doug

Hello all… Doug here!

Five points from nine. Don’t know about you but I would have settled for that at the beginning of the season.

Browning: Former Gill returning to his old club
This weekend we go up against a Bournemouth team who have collected the same amount of points as us. Sean O’Driscoll has a good squad at Dean Court…sorry, The Fitness First Stadium, one of those being Marcus Browning. He was one of those players that fans loved or hated. Personally I liked him, and I hope he gets a good reception.

It will be interesting to see how Neale Cooper is settling in to the managerial seat at Priestfield. He showed his passion in the first game when we scored, but did not go overboard shouting at the players if they made a mistake… He left that to Ronnie! Will it change this time around?

I’m going out on a limb here, but I would put money on heckle of the match being awarded to Mrs Doug who is accompanying me to Priestfield for the first time in a few seasons. Expect comments ranging from how Andy Hessenthaler’s side parting is so last century, or “That number 22 looks nice!”…

Let’s get behind the boys on Saturday.

Until then!

Doug…out!!
