NAME: Ben Small
FROM: York, living in London at university
CLUB: Brentford
What did you think of Brentford's performance?
One of the better ones this season to be honest! After having masters sent off things could have completely gone to pot, not having another goalkeeper on the bench, but we battled back and in the end I think we got what we deserved.
What did you think of Gillingham's performance?
The Gills did well but probably should have won in the circumstances. They knocked the ball about quite nicely and looked like they will give some of the better sides a run for their money.
How about the referee and linesmen?
Do referees and linesman ever have anything positive said about them? Brentford have appealed against the sending off but I thought it was a pretty stonewall red card. When things tend to go against clubs fans tend to get biased but I honestly think the officials did a decent job!
Was it a fair result? Would you have taken that result before the game?
I would definitely have taken it had you told me we'd be down to ten men with no recognised keeper after half an hour! A point was probably fair, but Brentford need to get back on track and start winning some games, if you cant do that at home then when is it going to be possible.
Who was the overall man of the match?
I don't think there was one player who stood out actually, the Bees players worked hard as a unit and Gillingham looked great going forward.
How did the Gills rate, compared to the other sides you've faced so far this season?
One of the tougher opponents we've had at Griffin Park but at 2-1 up I thought you were there for the taking. To say you were an away side you had great confidence and you certainly tested us.
If you could sign any of our players, would you? And if so, who?
That is a massive IF with Brentford's current financial problems but just on the basis of today I'd sign Jupp because of defensive organisation and experience, Flynn because he showed he can hit the net and we lack someone who can do that normally. Possibly Ndungu-Nsungu because not only does he have a great name but I've heard positive things about him.
Where do you think you'll finish this season?
I'm still hoping for a mid table finish and perhaps even a run at the playoffs but I can't see that happening. We will probably finish lowly mid table about 15th or so.
Where do you think the Gills will finish this season?
Probably higher than Brentford. I'd say very much like us you are still trying to become a quality consistent team, a few more seasons in League One and you'll most probably be out of here.
Who'll be promoted from League One this year?
Forest (They are pretty much running things), Swansea (Far too many quality players not to) and Bristol City (Outstanding with a great manager and it was about time they were given a chance in the Championship)
Who'll be relegated from League One this year?
Leyton Orient and Cheltenham (Not enough quality to sustain a place), Northampton (0 home wins so far, never a good sign), Rotherham (the ten point penalty will affect them at some point!)
