NAME: Richard Gaynor
FROM: Rotherham
CLUB: Rotherham United FC
How long have you been supporting Rotherham United?
I've been following the Millers for 17 years now for my sins
Who would you consider your main rivals, and why?
Sheffield Wednesday, as they have a healthy contingent of Rotherham Owls, and you will never hear so much crap being spouted from one team!!! However, there seems to be a dislike growing for Doncaster Rovers, who have hated us for years!!!
Best game of the season so far?
Beating Crewe 5-1 was a top performance, and last Saturdays game against Nottingham Forest was a cracker too, we deserved more than the one point.
Worst game of the season so far?
We've thrown away some silly points this season, and what's frightening is where we would have been if we had got them..(GTAT- Us Gills can sympathise with that…) Peterborough away in the cup was dire, in the league the loss to Northampton after missing a penalty to go 2-0 up was a kick in the proverbials!
Who's your star player?
Will Hoskins is banging the goals in for us, and not just tap-ins either!! This lad is special. And in Midfield there's Lee Williamson who is unfortunately injured at the moment, it's looking like Willo will be moving on in the January sales.
Whose name makes you groan when you hear they're on the teamsheet?
To be honest there's nobody getting stick at the moment, mainly because anybody who comes in is doing the job for the team. Last season's financial problems and the points deduction following it seem to have pulled the team and fans together and we are seeing a togetherness in the face of adversity.
Any promising youngsters to look out for?
Will Hoskins is only 20 and in his first real run in the team. Ryan Taylor is another striker that big things are expected from while just looking to break through are midfielder Stephen Brogan and striker Marc Newsham.
If money was no object, which League One player would you sign?
I bet you've had this a few times, but Lee Trundle to partner Hoskins up front. In saying that, it is no disrespect to Delroy Facey who is doing a great job, but just doesn't score enough!! I suppose that if he was a goal scorer then he wouldn't be plying his trade at Millmoor!
Are you happy with your current manager? Why?
Yes, last season he turned a team of deadbeats that seemingly didn't care they were heading towards league 2 at speed, into a team that looked like they wanted to play football and kept us up. His signings this season have been fantastic, considering there's been no money for the bloke to use.
Describe your team in three words.
Defying the critics…
Finally, your score prediction for the match.
2-1 Millers, we can't keep a clean sheet but Hoskins is on fire, especially away from home.
Likely Rotherham starting XI:
Cutler; Worrell, Sharps, Mills, Hurst/Robertson; Woods, Cochrane, Bopp, Partridge; Hoskins, Facey
