The spirit in the Rainham End took me back to the old days of the terraces. It really was a great atmosphere yesterday. I have made a formal complaint about the steward who stuck his fingers up at the R.E. in the first half. The guy in the sunglasses seemed to delight in being an over officious git!
I thought we went into the game just trying to get a draw and we seemed to frustrate the Ipswich attack for the whole match.
When Magilton came on at half time Ipswich tried playing the ball on the floor instead of the first 45 minutes of hoofing. He really made a difference. The player he replaced (Richards) seemed to be up for a fight for the best part of the half and maybe Joe Royle saw it that way too.
Brown's rush of blood in the second half may be because he was over eager to impress on his first time between the sticks for 6 weeks. He seemed to keen to stake a claim. I hope he starts the next match too.
Despite what I saw I think Ipswich will get promoted automatically.
Lastly; Stand Ternent is the man for the job. I really hope he and Ronnie stay, regardless of which division we are in. What do others think?
Gills Man of the Match
Apart from Kelvin Davis I would say Jonathon Douglas.
He really has livened up the midfield and was unlucky to hit the bar at the death.

Referee Watch
Referee Curson was had a mediocre game but was hindered by the clown on the Medway Stand in the second half. I also queried his judgement on a few occasions.
